A MAN from Rhyl has been banned from the roads after he was stopped while driving under the influence of a drug.
Gareth Galley, 32, of Heol-y-Llys, was issued with a 12-month disqualification from driving at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court today (April 17).
He admitted a charge of drug-driving during today’s hearing.

The court heard that, at about 11.05pm on January 16, officers stopped a Nissan car after it was seen travelling at excessive speed on Dyserth Road.
Galley, the driver of the vehicle, then undertook a drug swab test, which returned a positive result for Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a molecule found in cannabis.
His test revealed he had 7.7 micrograms of THC per litre of blood in his system at the time.
In mitigation, Galley was said to have fully co-operated with police after being stopped, had no previous convictions.
Galley has a partner and is in full-time employment, the court was told.
Deputy District Judge Gerallt Jones, presiding over the hearing, also ordered Galley to pay costs totalling £645.
This comprises a £400 fine, a £160 surcharge, and costs to the prosecution of £85.
